The Joint·Spine Center at Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital has arranged a professionally joint treatment system where a variety of departments including Orthopaedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation Medicine, Rheumarthritis, and Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine cooperate to offer patient-specific care. A group of specialized professors from each department are teamed up to share and compensate their knowledge and insights for the ultimate purpose of providing ideal treatments for all joint and spine diseases.
At the Joint·Spine Center, a joint treatment system has been established with participation not only of Orthopaedic Surgery and Neurosurgery which directly lead surgeries but also of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine in charge of nerve block at the region of pain and Rehabilitation Medicine supporting comprehensive rehabilitation training. Based on this joint system, closely and systematically integrated multidisciplinary care is applied over the whole process of diagnosis and treatment of acute/chronic pain diseases, spinal diseases, joint diseases, and chronic rheumatic diseases so as to propose the best treatment for patients.
The following diseases are diagnosed and treated at the Joint·Spine Center.
1. Limb joint disorders such as shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, hips, knees, ankles, and feet
2. Neck and backache, disc and stenosis endoscopy (minimally invasive microsurgery), osteoporosis, ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament, anterior spondylolisthesis, spinal tumor, peripheral neuropathy, scoliosis, spinal injury
3. Rheumatism extensively invading diverse joints, autoimmune diseases, gout, ankylosing spondylitis
4. Rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pain, sports rehabilitation, spinal rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, orthosis, artificial limb
5. Acute/chronic pain treatment, nerve root block
