The goal of the Hemodialysis Vascular Center is to maximize the convenience and stability of patients and provide the best medical services by allowing dialysis vascular problems to be resolved in a single hospital visit.
Maintaining dialysis vascular access for hemodialysis is essential to ensuring the health and safety of patients undergoing this treatment. Sudden narrowing or closure of dialysis vascular access caused by blood clot threaten the lives of hemodialysis patients, continuous vascular access management and prompt treatment in the case of closure are very important.
The Hemodialysis Vascular Center of the Ewha Aortic Vascular Hospital operates an emergency hotline that provides consultation and inquiries 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in order to promptly resolve the vascular problems of hemodialysis patients. If stenosis or occlusion occurs in the dialysis blood vessel of a hemodialysis patient, a dedicated coordinator contacts a multidisciplinary team, including a nephrologist, interventional radiologist, and vascular surgeon, to assess the condition, perform the required procedure promptly, and, if necessary, carry out surgery. If no significant complications arise, patients can be admitted, undergo an imaging-guided interventional procedure, and be discharged on the same day. If the patient needs to be hospitalized, the patient can be admitted quickly and receive hemodialysis if necessary. Upon discharge, a follow-up schedule is arranged to monitor the patient’s vascular access and ensure its continued functionality.
The goal of the Hemodialysis Vascular Center is to Provide the highest level of medical care while maximizing patient convenience and safety by solving patients’ dialysis vascular access issues with one visit to the hospital.
